Ms Emily Warner

Psychologist

Hello, my name is Emily and I am a Registered Psychologist at Prosper Health Collective. I am passionate about creating a safe and empowering space for clients to freely express their emotions and process their challenges without shame or judgement. I believe everyone deserves a cheerleader in their corner encouraging and gently challenging them through life and I love when I get to be that for my clients. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan within rural communities and metro private practices as well as working and supporting children in care. I have a strong interest in working with trauma-based presentations and in my previous roles have worked extensively with first-responders and clients impacted by sexual trauma and family violence.

Throughout my practice I have worked with and treated a variety of presenting issues. This includes but is not limited to: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Personality Disorders, Adjustment Difficulties, ADHD, Autism, Anger Management, Aboriginal Mental Health, Attachment Difficulties and Return to Work Plans.

My approach in therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed and compassionate. I use various evidence-based interventions to support my clients in treatment such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR), Imagery Rescripting, Emotion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, ensuring to always tailor the treatment to meet the individual’s presentation and needs. I am also skilled in Solution-Focused Therapy, Imaginal Exposure and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I believe my approach helps to develop a positive connection with my clients and builds strong and effective therapeutic relationships to create significant change.

I completed a Bachelor of Social Developmental Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience and Health Psychology, and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at Murdoch University. I then went on to complete my registration in rural WA in Carnarvon where I provided psychotherapeutic support to Carnarvon, Exmouth and the Aboriginal Community Burringurrah.

Outside of the office you can find me spending time with family and friends, reading my kindle, listening to a good podcast and going on a nice long walk with my daughter and my two dogs. If you believe I can support and assist you or your family, please contact the practice on you (08) 6381 0071. I look forward to meeting you.
